2008 5K Race Donates Over $11,000 to Charities
As a non-profit and philanthropic organization, the Kentlands Community Foundation donated 50% of the Race net proceeds to (2) nonprofit entities: $10,500 was granted to the "Dolores C. Swoyer Scholarship Fund" that gives children in need the opportunity to attend the City of Gaithersburg's summer camp.

A donation of $1,000 was given to the Maryland Senior Olympics, a non-profit organization that provides the chance for Seniors to compete in (32) different sports on a local, state and national level.

The 2009 Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run, Walk & Kids Fun Runs will take place on Saturday, September 5th at 8 am.
Congratulations to the over 1,300 5K Runners and Walkers and over 300 children that participated in the largest Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Race ever!
A special congratulations to all of our Maryland Senior Olympians, many of whom qualified today to compete in the 2009 National Senior Olympics in San Francisco, CA! We are so proud of you, and wish you all the best!!!
