Local Organizations Show Support for 5K Race
Showing true community spirit, a number of local organizations recently joined lead sponsor Natelli Communities and Classic Community and committed to support the 2001 Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk. The Kentlands Citizens Assembly, Charters Home Team and Keller Williams Maryland Realty, Potomac Pizza, Charles C. Harrington, DDS, Kentlands Veterinary Hospital, My Gym children's fitness center, Housekeeping Authority, and Personal Touch beauty salon are on board to sponsor the road race that will take place on Saturday, September 1.
The Kentlands Citizens Assembly, which is the governing unit of community residents, is enthusiastic about supporting the race that is hosted by the Kentlands Community Foundation. "The Board felt that this was an excellent way to show the public its support for the Foundation and its programs," said Richard Nakles, member of the assembly's board of trustees.
Second-time sponsor Mary Charters of Charters Home Team and Keller Williams Realty said, "I am a huge advocate of participating in events that will benefit our community. I view the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk as an essential opportunity to support the Kentlands Community Foundation, and I am honored to be a sponsor."
A number of surrounding-area organizations have also committed to sponsoring the road race. They include Galyans Sport & Outdoor Adventure store, the City of Gaithersburg, the Gazette Newspapers, Dr. Adam Spector of Montgomery Foot & Ankle Associates LLC, Comcast cable company, Chevys Fresh Mex restaurant, Classic Rock 94.7 radio station, and Allentuck Printing and Graphics.
The 2001 Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk organizers promise to release more information about the race, including the route, in the near future.
