Subscriptions and Gala Sell Out

"New Boy" Chosen as Worldwide Winner

The Opening Night Gala Reception allowed the audience to participate in the Manhattan Short Film Festival - 12 short films that had been selected as finalists for the Festival - and were shown around the world in that same week in 100 different venues. The winning film was chosen by viewers in North, Central and South America, Europe and Australia. Our guests placed their votes for their favorite film immediately following the screenings and after all the votes from around the world were tallied, the KFS audience voted for the worldwide winner, NEW BOY!

These are the results from the KFS audience:

New Boy (Ireland) – 29 votes

Ripple (UK) – 24 votes

The Golden Thread (Spain) – 10 votes

Make My Day (Denmark) – 8 votes; Rachel (USA) – 6 votes; Change Coming (Australia) – 4 votes

The Game (New Zealand) – 3 votes; Teat Beat of Sex (USA) – 1 vote; Sour Milk (Israel) – 1 vote

Subscriptions for the 2008-2009 Season have sold out. However, there may be a limited number of Walk-In Tickets available for each show that can be purchased the evening of each show beginning at 6:15 pm.

For all other shows other than Opening Night, doors open at 6:15 for Walk-in ticket sales and reception, with the films beginning at 7 pm sharp. Other Films being shown as part of the 2008-2009 Season Line-up on Sunday evenings at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn:

Subscription Information

• A subscription for the five-film series will be $35.
• Subscription applications available starting on June 6, 2008.
• Pick one up at the Kentlands or Lakelands Clubhouse, Gaithersburg Arts Barn or Kentlands Manor dining areas.
• You can also download an application.

Each film will once again be followed by a get-together and optional discussion group in the Arts Studio in the Gaithersburg Arts Barn.
