Phantom of the Open

Despite never having played a round of golf, a middle-aged crane operator managed to enter the British Open in 1976. He shot the worst round in Open history and became a folk hero. Based on the true story of Maurice Flitcroft, it’s an uplifting story about pursuing your dreams and shooting for the stars, no matter what hand you’re dealt.

The Kentlands Film Society was established under the Kentlands Community Foundation in 2006 with the goal of bringing high quality, independent films to residents of the greater Kentlands/Lakelands community.  This mission has been carried out over each of the last 17 years with the showing of about 85 films to a collective audience of approximately 6,250 attendees.

All films will be shown at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.  Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and films start at 7:00 p.m.
