Now in its 32nd year, the Kentlands|Lakelands 5K Run, Walk, and Kids Fun Run is a beloved community tradition hosted by the Kentlands Community Foundation.
The race has become the most significant 5K event in Montgomery County and a beloved community tradition that brings together residents, families, athletes, and volunteers to celebrate community, wellness, and philanthropy.
The event draws over 1,500 runners and walkers, 300+ children in the Kids Run and Tot Trot, and more than 2,000 spectators and community members who join us for the post-race festival, which features live music, food vendors, giveaways, and family-friendly fun.

Your support helps sustain 14 year-round programs of the Kentlands Community Foundation, advancing arts, culture, education, environmental sustainability, and volunteerism throughout Gaithersburg.
Additionally, a percentage of race proceeds are donated directly to nonprofit organizations making a real difference in the lives of Montgomery County residents. In 2024 alone, the Foundation distributed $30,000 to local partners, including:

G-PARC – Expanding access to arts and recreation for youth and families.

Maryland Senior Olympics – Encouraging active aging and community through sport and wellness.
