An odd assortment of characters are passengers on an ocean liner, but no one can remember where they're headed. The lovers have a secret that no one can know; the society lady can't accept that there is only one class on board and she has to share a table with a low-brow charwoman for dinner; the young man drinks too much but sees through everything; and the mysterious ship steward seems to be the only crewmember. When it's revealed that the ocean liner is headed for Judgment Day, each person plots to ensure a heavenly afterlife. But the Examiner who decides their fate is not willing to bargain. Outward Bound explores mortality and morality with light touches of social commentary and gallows humor.

About Kentlands Community Players

Founded in 2019, Kentlands Community Players is a Kentlands Community Foundation program whose mission is to produce community theatre in the truest sense of the word. KCP is a theatre group run by local community members and with works produced, directed, and performed by local artists with a passion for live theatre, and with a focus on theatrical productions accessible to audiences of all ages.

Past productions include full-length comedies and dramas, one-act plays, and a pivot to virtual productions during the pandemic. KCP is excited to bring live theatre to the community, to represent the Kentlands Community Foundation in the greater DMV area, and is a grateful recipient of funding from the Montgomery County Government and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, and of several grants for arts and humanities secured via the Kentlands Community Foundation
