Kentlands Community Players is a volunteer-driven theater group dedicated to producing authentic, accessible, and inclusive community theater. KCP focuses on works that are produced, directed, and performed by local residents, with a mission to keep live theatre thriving in our community
The Kentlands Community Players announces auditions for Outward Bound by Sutton Vane directed Pauline Griller Mitchell.
The action of the play takes place soon after World War One has ended. A group of unrelated passengers board the ship on a beautiful sunny day. After a while the passengers go to their cabins. The next morning the ship is enveloped in heavy fog. The passengers find out they don’t know where they’re going …..
Auditions to be held Sunday, February 15 at 2 pm and Monday, February 16 at 7 pm with call backs, if needed, Wednesday, February 18 at 7 pm. Auditions will take place at The List Realty, 371 Main Street, Gaithersburg MD. Performances will be April 17th-May 3rd at the Arts Barn in Gaithersburg.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please download and complete the audition form, attach a current headshot/photo and resume, and please complete the conflicts calendar, including all conflicts up until closing night. HENRY: Quiet young man - 25+
MR. TOM PRIOR: Highly strung, very sure of himself - 30+
MRS. CLIVEDEN-BANKS: Snob, loud – 50+
REV WILLIAM DUKE: Sincere young clergyman - 30+
MRS. MIDGET: Cockney charwoman – 50+
MR. LINGLEY: Loud and obnoxious businessman – 50+
REV FRANK THOMSON: Hail fellow, well-met type - 55-75

About Kentlands Community Players
Founded in 2019, Kentlands Community Players is a Kentlands Community Foundation program whose mission is to produce community theatre in the truest sense of the word. KCP is a theatre group run by local community members and with works produced, directed, and performed by local artists with a passion for live theatre, and with a focus on theatrical productions accessible to audiences of all ages.
Past productions include full-length comedies and dramas, one-act plays, and a pivot to virtual productions during the pandemic. KCP is excited to bring live theatre to the community, to represent the Kentlands Community Foundation in the greater DMV area, and is a grateful recipient of funding from the Montgomery County Government and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, and of several grants for arts and humanities secured via the Kentlands Community Foundation
